Frequently asked

Household staffing questions, answered.

Which household and estate roles does Valmore place?

Valmore places estate managers, directors of residences, chiefs of staff, private and executive chefs, executive housekeepers, butlers, chauffeurs, personal assistants, nannies and governesses, domestic couples, and household security professionals for principal residences in South Florida, New York and internationally.

How long does a household staffing search take?

Most retained searches present a shortlist within two to three weeks of the signed mandate. Senior mandates such as chief of staff or director of residences typically run four to six weeks because reference verification and structured interviews are more extensive.

How are candidates vetted and background-checked?

Every candidate completes identity and right-to-work verification, criminal background screening where lawful, 360-degree reference checks with prior principals or supervisors, and structured competency interviews. A Valmore partner signs off on every introduction — AI only organizes evidence, it never decides.

Is there a replacement guarantee on placements?

Yes. Senior retained mandates carry a replacement guarantee of up to twelve months; standard household placements carry a ninety-day guarantee. Terms are set out in the written search mandate before work begins.

How do candidates apply for open positions?

Candidates apply directly on this page with a résumé, a professional photograph, a cover letter, two contactable references and language and licence details. Applications are confidential, and candidates can track their status — submitted, processing, shortlisted, interviewed, trial, hired or rostered — in the candidate portal.

Does Valmore staff households outside the United States?

Yes. Valmore has placed staff across seventeen countries, with active desks covering the United States, Europe, Latin America and the Caribbean. International mandates include relocation, visa and contract support coordinated with the client's advisors.
