Estate Staffing — Punta del Este
Valmore runs retained, single-firm household searches for residences in Punta del Este and along the Uruguayan coast — the Peninsula, Punta Ballena, La Barra and José Ignacio. The season concentrates an entire year into December through March: the team that opens the residence before the family arrives must hold standards through the busiest weeks and close the property cleanly when the summer ends. We recruit and place estate managers, housekeepers, private chefs, butlers, nannies and drivers for exactly that calendar — with background and reference verification before any introduction, and a written confidentiality protocol on every placement.

Step 1
A written profile of the residence, the calendar and each role's real duties — including season opening, peak-week load and closing — agreed before anyone is approached.
Step 2
A closed search across Uruguayan, Argentine and Brazilian households, with background, reference, driving and childcare verification completed before introductions. Nothing is disclosed to candidates until the family approves the shortlist.
Step 3
A paid trial day, reporting lines and security protocols agreed in writing, payroll and HR handoff, and a twelve-month replacement guarantee on every placement.
The Uruguayan coast runs on a compressed calendar. A residence that sits quiet from April to November receives family, guests and staff every day from late December through February, and the household that works in January is usually not the same team that closed the property in March. Hiring for that pattern is different from hiring for a year-round estate: roles are seasonal or rotational, the best professionals commit early, and the standards the family expects in peak weeks must be written down before the first guests arrive.
We plan the season backwards from the family's arrival date: who opens the residence, who holds peak weeks, who closes it and hands the property back to caretakers. Where the same staff serve Miami, New York or São Paulo for the rest of the year, we coordinate the rotation and the compensation for the travel it implies.
Estate and house managers lead the demand, followed by housekeepers with formal-service experience, private chefs who can move between family dinners and hosted weekends, nannies with swimming and beach-safety judgment, and drivers who know the coastal road after dark. Multilingual candidates — Spanish, English and Portuguese — are screened against what the household actually needs, not a generic language bar.
For residences that need an entire team built before the season, we run the searches in parallel and define reporting lines before anyone starts, so the house manager is never negotiating authority in January.
The household market on the Uruguayan coast is small and overlapping. Every Valmore search is retained and exclusive: we approach professionals we already know, and we do not disclose the family's name, address or schedule until the family has approved the introductions.
Verification happens before every meeting. Work history, background checks, driving records and references are confirmed in advance; our process organizes the evidence and a senior partner approves a shortlist of up to six finalists for a paid trial day. Valmore does not disclose a principal's name, address, schedule or security arrangements — to candidates, to vendors, or in any public material.
Most searches conclude in six to ten weeks; senior roles can take eight to twelve when relocation is involved, and seasonal searches should start in the southern spring for a December opening.
The placement fee is 20% of the accepted first-year base salary, with a retainer of 20% of that fee credited against placement. Every placement includes a written twelve-month replacement guarantee.
Request a private consultationAs early as possible. The strongest candidates commit to a household for the whole season by October and November; searches that begin in December compete for whatever is left. Senior roles — estate manager, chef — benefit from an even earlier start.
